FarmVille Buildings Guide Not sure what buildings you need in FarmVille? Trying to figure out what materials to send your friends, or request for yourself? Bright Hub's guide to FarmVille buildings will guide you on the need to know for every FarmVille building available. Besides planting crops, growing trees, and tending animals in FarmVille, players can also place buildings along their property. Buildings have a variety of uses, and can be categorized into four types: The first three types of buildings offer special utility to the player, and are recommended for every farmer to build as soon as possible. Buildings are also often upgradeable, and may require special materials to complete. While many buildings simply cost coins, several buildings require the help of friends through the use of materials. Materials must be received from friends or purchased for $1FV Cash each in the Market. Materials can be found in the "free gifts" section, and each player is randomly assigned a few (but not all) materials they can send to their friends. Materials include: When upgrading a building, players may require either materials or help from their friends. If a building doesn't require materials to upgrade, it may suggest that the player hold a "barn raising" to expand the size of their building. In order to begin a barn raising, a player must select "Expand Storage" from a building that can be upgraded, then select the "Expand" button below the building they would like to upgrade. FarmVille will then ask permission to post a link on the player's wall to ask for the help of ten friends. After the player has posted the link, they must have the help of 10 friends within three days, or the barn raising will fail. If the barn raising succeeds, the next time the player logs into FarmVille, their building will be upgraded and they can begin another barn raising. Buildings have one more purpose in FarmVille: earning the Architect series of window._taboola = window._taboola []; _taboola.push(article:'auto'); !function (e, f, u) e.async = 1; e.src = u; f.parentNode.insertBefore(e, f); (document.createElement('script'), document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0], '//cdn.taboola.com/libtrc/ezoic2-network/loader.js'); window._taboola = window._taboola []; _taboola.push( mode: 'thumbnails-b2', container: 'taboola-mid-articlethumbnails', placement: 'Mid articleThumbnails', target_type: 'mix' ); window._taboola = window._taboola []; _taboola.push(flush: true); Ribbons. To earn the Blue (final) ribbon, players must build and have 30 buildings on their property at the same time. The easiest method to do this is to buy rest tents (available at level 5) and place them on the property until the ribbon is achieved. This method will cost the player 30,000 coins, but earn them back 18,000 coins, resulting in only a 12,000 coin cost to the player. Once complete, the buildings can be sold back. The Bakery is a crafting building, used to convert bushels into finished goods, which can be further traded into fuel for farming. A bakery focuses in producing baked goods (pastries and tarts). Required Level: 25 Cost: Free (if first crafting building), $80 FV Cash (if player already owns crafting building) Required Materials: None Size: 9 x 7 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: Yes (coins plus crafting requirements) The Spa is a crafting building, used to convert bushels into finished goods, which may further be traded into fuel for farming. These bushels can be used mainly for crafting, and also for making pig slop or improving the mastery a harvested crop yields. Required Level: 15 Cost: 50,000 coins Required Materials: none Size: 3 x 2 Building Limit: 5 Upgrades: none The Garden Shed is similar to a Market Stall, except that instead of storing bushels, it stores Perfect Bunches, only collected when harvesting flowers. These perfect bunches can then be used as a temporary (14 day) decoration on the farm. Up to 30 Perfect Bunches may be stored at one time. Required Level: 1 Cost: 30,000 coins Required Materials: none Size: 4 x 2 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: none The Beehive is a special building which houses up to 200 Honeybees. These bees have a chance of pollinating a crop, giving the farmer seeds that have a better chance of producing bushels. Harvesting honeybees may also result in giving a Fertilize All item to the farmer. eval(ez_write_tag([[336,280],'gameyum_com-box-2'])); In order to complete the Beehive, a player must also find a Queen Bee. These cost $10 FV Cash in the Market, or may be found on a rare chance from planting, harvesting, or fertilizing flower crops (less than 1%). Once found, players may place Honeybees (gifted from friends) in the hive as well. Required Level: 1 Cost: 5,000 coins Required Materials: 10 each of: Smoker, Beeswax, Wooden Board, Nail, Brick Size: 4 x 4 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: None. However, the hive will grow in stages as more bees are added. The Chicken Coop is a special animal building which can house up to 60 chickens at full capacity. This building may then be harvested once a day for a chance to find Mystery Eggs from the chickens inside. Mystery Eggs may be shared with friends, and contain various gifts inside them. Required Level: 1 Cost: 5,000 coins Required Materials: none Size: 5 x 3 Building Limit: Only one (a glitch once allowed farmers to purchase or obtain more than one) Upgrades: Yes, through Barn Raising: Big Coop (40 Chickens) and Huge Coop (60 Chickens). The Dairy Farm is a special animal building which can house up to 40 cows (including one bull). This building may be harvested once a day for the earnings of the cows inside. Farmers also have a chance of finding a calf if they have adopted a Lonely Bull from a friend and placed it inside the Dairy Farm. Dairy Farms also have a chance of giving Fertilizer or Cow Bells. Required Level: 1 Cost: 10,000 coins Required Materials: none Size: 6 x 5 Building Limit: 5 through coins (more can be purchased with FV Cash) Upgrades: Yes, through Barn Raising: Big Dairy Farm (30 Cows) and Huge Dairy Farm (40 Cows). The Horse Stable is a special animal building which can house up to 40 horses plus one Stallion. It may be harvested once a day to collect the earnings of the horses inside plus chances at extra experience, coins, Arborists, or Farmhands. If a Stallion is housed, players may also find a foal to share with friends. Stallions may be found through a friend's wall post, although some Stallions have been available through the Marketplace on a limited time offer. Required Level: 1 Cost: 5,000 coins Required Materials: 10 each of: Brick, Nail, Wooden Board, Harness, Horseshoe Size: 7 x 9 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: Yes, four times. Each upgrade requires an additional 50 materials as listed in required materials, rather than using Barn Raising. The Nursery Barn is a special animal building in which baby animals (foals and calves) may be housed and harvested once per day. There is a chance when harvesting from the barn that the young animal will grow up, granting the player an adult animal and allowing them to offer a free baby animal as a gift to their friends. Required Level: 1 Cost: 0 Required Materials: none Size: 5 x 3 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: none The Pig Pen is a special animal building which allows players to harvest from a collection of pigs once daily. Players may also look inside their pen to see currently housed pigs, and send them hunting for truffles on a random friend's farm. Hunting for truffles requires slop, created from converting any crop bushel. Truffles are exchanged for rare pigs. Required Level: 16 Cost: 5,000 Required Materials: 8 each of: Wooden Board, Brick, Nail Size: 7 x 9 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: none The barn is a special storage building in FarmVille, usually taking up an approximate 7 x 7 area, and may be expanded through Barn Raising twice. There are several different types of barns, from the common Red Barn to special edition barns like the Japanese Barn, Adobe Barn, German Barn, and Modern Barn. The barn's storage space count towards overall storage space on the farm, which can reach a maximum of 500 spaces combined (even if the player has upgraded beyond this storage limit). Storage space is shared across all buildings, so an item placed in a barn is not held specifically in that building. Each barn has its own unique price and requirement. Multiple barns may be built on a farm. Like barns, sheds come in various types, sizes, and prices. They may also be upgraded, and are the most efficient storage units per area outside of the storage cellar as they take up less space per item stored. Basic sheds are also one of the cheapest storage units available, only costing 14,000 coins. The garage is a special storage building designed to hold only vehicles (excluding the Bi-Plane). In addition to housing tractors, harvesters, seeders, and more, the garage can also upgrade vehicles through the use of gifted vehicle parts, allowing them to cover more plots at once. Required Level: 22 Cost: 50,000 coins Required Materials: 10 each of: Wooden Board, Brick, Nail Size: 7 x 7 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: none The storage cellar is a special storage building, and the most efficient of any storage buildings in FarmVille. Beginning at only a few spots of storage, the cellar can be upgraded with the help of friends gifting shovels to a maximum of 500 spaces - coincidentally the maximum number of storage spaces any farm can have. The storage cellar also allows players to convert points earned by putting shovels into the cellar into prizes. Required Level: 16 Cost: 1 coin Required Materials: Shovels (to expand) Size: 2 x 2 Building Limit: Only one Upgrades: Up to 500 Many buildings in FarmVille exist only to decorate the farm, helping farmers create the perfect look or feel for their farm. Buildings in this category include both limited edition buildings and regular buildings. Regular decorative buildings include: FarmVille regularly offers limited edition sets of items, usually released once or twice per week. These items tend to follow a specific theme, and most are decorative, although a few utility buildings - mostly storage - have also been released. The items tend to have a high cost associated with them in coins, or cost FarmVille Cash to purchase. The items remain in the marketplace for only a few weeks at a time, and are then removed permanently. An example of a limited edition set is below.
